Glendora, CA – In the early morning hours of February 28, 2025, Glendora Police Officers conducted a traffic stop near Lone Hill Avenue and Glendora Marketplace. The driver initially yielded but then fled the scene.
After a brief vehicle pursuit, the suspect stopped and officers from the Glendora Police Department, along with deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, ordered him to exit the vehicle. The suspect did not comply. Instead, he retrieved a handgun from inside the vehicle and was injured from a self-inflicted gunshot.
Glendora Police Officers, Sheriff’s Deputies, and personnel from the Los Angeles County Fire Department immediately rendered medical aid. The suspect was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
At the time of the traffic stop, Glendora Police Officers were unaware that the suspect may have been linked to a recent attempted murder. This information was obtained later and that case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Contrary to some media reports, this was not a police shooting. No Glendora Police Officers or Sheriff’s Deputies discharged their firearms during this incident.
Both the Glendora Police Department and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department are conducting thorough investigations into this matter.
