PUBLIC NOTICE

SUMMARY OF PROPOSED ORDINANCE

AS PRESCRIBED BY GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 36933 (c) (1)

            NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT at their meeting held December 10, 2024, the Glendora City Council introduced for first reading, Ordinance No. 2093, entitled:

AN ORDINANCE of the CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDORA, CALIFORNIA AMENDING TITLE 10 (VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC) OF THE GLENDORA MUNICIPAL CODE, CHAPTERS 10.76 (STREET VENDING) AND 10.77 (SIDEWALK VENDING) TO UPDATE THE CITY OF GLENDORA'S REGULATORY PROGRAM APPLICABLE TO STREET AND SIDEWALK VENDORS

Which if approved, will amend several sections of Glendora Municipal Code Title 10 (Vehicles and Traffic).
The ordinance enacts the following regulations and policies: 

  1. Modifies prohibited locations to address the safety of vehicle operators and pedestrians.
  2. Revises application requirements for a Sidewalk Vendor Permit.
  3. Revises Sidewalk Vendor operating standards to address the size and configuration of vending devices.
  4. Adds a section authorizing the city to impound vending devices and equipment for code violations.
  5. Updates the standards for liability insurance.

The City Council will consider adoption of said ordinance at their meeting to be held January 14, 2025, at 7:00 p.m., in the Council Chamber, 116 E. Foothill Boulevard, Glendora.

Said ordinance will become effective 30 days after adoption.

The foregoing Ordinance was introduced for first reading at the Regular Meeting of the Glendora City Council by the following roll call vote:

AYES:               COUNCILMEMBERS:               Allawos, Davis, Elias, Fredendall, and Thompson.
NOES:              COUNCILMEMBERS:               None.
ABSENT:          COUNCILMEMBERS:               None.
